MINI back the Scrappage Incentive

UK GOVERNMENT SCRAPPAGE INCENTIVE

 

 MINI fully supports the introduction of a scrappage incentive scheme similar to those introduced successfully in other European markets. These schemes provide a cash incentive to scrap older cars to purchase new cars with lower exhaust emissions. These schemes have boosted new car sales, helping to retain employment and to provide tax revenue to governments, which helps to balance the payments made for scrappage. It is anticipated that the UK scheme will apply to vehicles aged between eight and ten years, and above.
